Reminder to choose kindness
In times like today, we all want to be loved and beloved. We are in the world of collective exhaustion where people are fighting for one or the other thing on daily basis. Oftentimes, we forget that the world is beyond our perspective too and other people also have their own sufferings. Some choose to speak, some choose to give you hints in their own way or some just like to swallow it. We take the kindness of others for granted and choose to distribute only a little of ours. How often we have been told to be kind but nobody has ever told us how to do it? It’s often the most important subject we need to learn about than any other skill. One of my dear friends once told me, ‘ It doesn’t matter whether the depth of water is 10m or 50m, you are still drowning’. Suffering comes in all shades, everyone has their own list of problems and no problem is big or small.
We live in a world where being kind is chosen to be a part of weakness, but actually, it isn't. Being kind is the most courageous thing you will ever do. To choose kindness, we are extending our compassion for others and ourselves. We are saying to others and ourselves, ‘I’m here and I hear you.’ In the end, we are allowing others to speak their mind and our minds too, it’s also the first step to learn how to love.
There are times when it becomes difficult to choose kindness over anger, to choose empathy over rage. To your surprise, these are the moments where being kind is the most important thing you can do for others and yourself. When someone speaks in rage to you, always remember it always comes from the fear of not being loved, lack of compassion, or lack of empathy. If we reciproacate in the same manner, it will lead to heat. The ability to choose kindness will be tough initially because we don’t know how to control our emotions, but in the long run it will be beneficial for you and others well. Love expand as give more to the world.
Being kind is pretty self-explanatory, but one do it in many ways. Whether it is opening a door for someone or delivering a bouquet of flowers, kindness can have a greater impact than you think. It is one of the greatest attributes that someone can have and in my opinion of the most underrated attributes in the person.
Remember to choose kindness, even when your heart aches a little. Because my dear friend, we cannot take our words or action back, so let’s be more mindful of our action and words.
