If you see her even for a while, one thing which will stay with you is her smile. Her smile is infectious like a cold breeze air, it doesn’t let anyone escape from it. I’m talking about Kajal Gupta, whom I have met in Goa in 2019. She is a travel blogger ( you can find her on Instagram — @seceretescapades1).

That’s how one looks like when one smile from the heart. :) Picture Credits —@seceretescapades1

We connected at a very deep level which we aren’t still able to explain to each other. It’s her birthday today, and I want to appreciate this human for taking the courage to follow her dreams. She has a thing for travelling always. Whenever I used to ask her about whereabouts, she was mostly working towards her planning for the next trip or is already on the trip. She started her Instagram Page in the year 2020 and I’m glad she did. It opened her in so many ways, which one can only imagine. This little human has inspired me to go on a solo trip in September 2021 to Leh, Ladakh.

Here are few things Kajal wants the world to understand. Hope it reaches to many.

1/ Travelling isn’t limited to destination but also to people you meet on the journey.

2/ There is joy in giving. It fulfills one heart. She likes to be Santa for everyone and distribute gifts and joy.

3/ Kindness — it’s like snow which wraps everything it touches with warmth and shine.

4/ There are moments when one goes through a plethora of emotions. There are moments in life where one wants to cry, shout, laugh, love, or just be in silence. There is so much in the moment and then you realize, how one can have so much bandwidth to experience the beauty of life.

Goa — 2019. This is the best day we could ever have which involved losing stuff, long drives, fulfilling food, and a crazy night.

5/ Fearless doesn’t mean you aren’t scared of anything. It means it doesn’t stop you from following your heart or dreams. You might fumble on the way, but you have to have the courage to keep moving.

6/ Do not focus on what you can’t control. We can focus on what’s within us, and how to nourish it. Life always starts from within.

7/ Take a leap of faith for your dreams, passion, or one particular thing. Not for anyone else, but for yourself! Well, who knows your heart better than you.

8/ If you want to carry one thing throughout your life, then let it be the hope. If you feel like you are losing it, then slow down and look at the sky with innocent eyes. You might get hold of it, again.

9/ Most of the time, it isn’t the outside world we miss, it’s ourselves which we miss the most. We miss our reckless smile and optimism towards life.

10/ We aren’t meant to lead the world solo. We aren’t meant to solve all our problems. Please ask for help when you need to. You are human after all my friend, with a fragile heart. :)

11/ Don’t be scared of being lost or walk in the unknown. Scared of being stuck. You might not get what you want, but you will have stories to tell.

12/ ‘It’s important to remember we all have magic inside us’: JK Rowling. We all have superpowers to love and care unconditionally. The power that allows us to smile when we see others smiling.

13/ Liberate yourself | Cry wholeheartedly to smile wholeheartedly| Live for the small moments | Be your unapologetic yourself | Trust the universe

14/ Go back today and start taking time out for yourself, your body, and your mind. Along with the soul of yours, your body of yours also matters the most.

15/ Smile because when you focus on the good, the good gets better. Try it for yourself!

16/ One quote of Kajal which stuck with me is: “zindagi se behad pyaar hai use, aur khud se, zindagi se bhi zydaa”

17/ No matter how much you know, there is always more to learn! The world keeps growing and so the learning opportunities

18/ Love people fiercely when you are with them. That’s the best gift you can give to anyone.

19/ What does it feel to find your ikigai? — How one feels when they are young in love and enter into a relationship with all the butterflies in the stomach. There is no other place one wants to be in. That’s how one feels in the workplace if one has found the work which nourishes one’s heart.

20/ You carry so much love in your heart. Do not mind sharing it with folks around you. Try this out, you might love it more than you thought so.

There is a universe to be explored. This is Kajal in Mulki. Picture Credits — @seceretescapades1

21/ “Honey, all you have to be by the age of 23 is yourself” — well I know you have dreams to fulfill, but sometimes life decides to be ‘life’. So during this time, just be yourself and you shall find a new path for yourself.

22/ Enjoy today without fear of tomorrow. It’s reckless but try it out sometime. It’s the time when you will feel alive the most.

23/ Be so happy that when you are looking yourself in the Mirror of Erised, you see yourself exactly as you are.

24/ “ Yes, I can and I will do it” — is all you need.

Wholesome Picture. I love this picture of Kajal. Pciture Credits — @seceretescapades1

Kajal Gupta loves life as if she is in a relationship with life as if. It’s not even easy for her, but she knows to make the best cocktail out of it. She has gone through phases that have broken her too, but the will she carries out in her heart to keep walking is commendable.

Happy Birthday, Kajal! You are fire. We need more people like you in this world. I will treat you with cold coffee, if we meet soon. :)

You can find more about her on her website. Please do visit to give yourself a small treat for the day.
